Bald Eagle Flight. One of my pleasurable winter past times is pursuing the Bald Eagles of the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument, New Mexico. In New Mexico, migrating Bald Eagles can be found near rivers and lakes, where occasional tall trees provide look-out perches and night roosts. Along the Rio Grande they can easily be seen perched along the river vigilantly watching the water’s surface for their next meal. Bald Eagles feed primarily on fish, such as carp and suckers, and occasionally waterfowl.
