Highway 285 Bud Light Carton Road Kill

Bud Light Carton Road Kill

As many of you know I have spent the last few years documenting with photographs the Bud Light litter I encounter. As I hike, bike, raft and drive through out Northern New Mexico I find myself constantly distracted by that flash of blue, ask any of my traveling companions.

I stopped a mile from my house in Ojo Caliente, New Mexico, to archive this example someone’s rubbish. I wondered why it was discarded in the middle of the highway and not to the side? I noted how the carton was torn open. Do these observations tell us anything?

So, why do people litter?

Bud Light in the middle of Highway 285.People litter because they do not feel responsible for public areas like streets and parks.

New Mexico's prolific litter, Bud Light. They usually litter outside their own neighborhood where their trash becomes someone else’s problem.

Passing by the Bud Light litter without a care. This guy was wondering “what the hell” I was doing as he whizzed past.

All I really know is people’s disposal behavior in public places is complex. I may never truly know why.

What I do know is that I do not like the irresponsible Bud Light drinkers of New Mexico.
